Kojima is a beautiful town on the Seto Inland Sea. Naoshima, one of the celebrated venues of ART SETOUCHI, is just a short distance away. A charming historic port, the tree-covered hills of Washuzan, the Seto Ohashi Bridge stretching across the water, the islands scattered across the inland sea — this is the landscape we call home, and one we hope draws visitors from around the world, not just those connected to the denim industry.

Today, Kojima is recognized as the heart of Okayama Denim and the birthplace of Japan's domestic denim — but the town's history began in school uniform manufacturing. When the industry shifted from cotton to synthetic fibers, local makers found their next chapter in denim. Drawing on traditional techniques from the surrounding region — indigo dyeing and kasuri weaving — and developing distressing and vintage finishing methods, they built something with real value: a standard of Japanese denim quality that the world has come to recognize.
